haiku

a bear in winter
loudly stumbling into sleep,
falls, covered in bees.

saint and sailor...summers reminiscing...

freckled summers
:
turning stones
blackberries staining fingers and lips
firefly rings
exploring cupboards and jars
filled by the world before me;

chapped lips and skinned knees
blanket forts and paper planes
hiding behind cottonwood trees
dreaming of whales and galaxies;

blue calico curtains, edges frayed

old ghosts
someone to read with
secret treasures and whispering secrets;

the scent of cornfields in late summer
(always)
walking the creek bed
taking minnows for goldfish
believing the world an ocean

the brown car, the red car,
the Cadillac.

a garden of my own

these forests.

half-assed update of sorts

Today is looking to be a long one:
work until 6 and then a meeting after work until really late :(

haven't had time to really take photos of all of the stuff i've been working on, but here's a little hint...(sorry for the bad photos)

here's some of what i have waiting for me when i have more time...

15 June 2009

back to the work type things...

so i survived the weekend while frank was gone.
-watched three harry potter movies
-finished two hanks of yarn and started another
-ate one pizza
-made a half-assed attempt at laundry
-had mexican food with frank's family-type ladies
-bought two knitting books one antique map book and three magazines

now he's back and i couldn't be happier.

(photos to follow...maybe)

fair use, i'm sure

so i'm not too sure how i feel about posting this but...

found on etsy:

i knew i had seen this image somewhere before, and sure enough, it's an iStock photo.
i don't usually care about calling people out on this kind of thing, but this shop has made loads of sales. so they're making profit off of an image that they have no right to make a profit from...and yes i read the terms and conditions of iStock.

summery days in diguise of seattle spring

goings on this week:
-thursday 3am: airport...frank is going to virginia for an electronics convention (it's a work thing). this will pretty much be the first time since we've been together that we won't see each other for a few days...:(...it's only until sunday, though and i have three harry potter dvds being netflixed to me.
-thursday noon: finally picking up the insane amount of wool, including one fresh-off-the-sheep Shetland fleece. i really will need a drum carder now. oh and the lady is also giving me a ball-winder.
-i heard that this saturday is "worldwide knit in public day". seeing that i live far from everything, and, though i will have the car this weekend, i will probably prefer to just go to a park around here if it's nice.
-sunday: my heart flies back to me :)
-side notes: do laundry
