up and coming!

So I'm participating in a few crafty fairs in the next couple of weeks :)

The first is the Johnstock Craft Fair in the Crafty Planet parking lot during Art-A-Whirl.
Crafty Planet is located at 2833 Johnson Street NE in Minneapolis. I will be there Sat & Sun, May 15 & 16th.
...and the 15th is also the night of the Clem Snide show, so it's going to be a great big busy weekend!

The second one is the 2nd Handmade Art Market at the Beat Coffeehouse in Uptown (MPLS).
The wonderful and talented Wendy Peterson aka Claire Monet has been helping organize it and she even made really awesome posters :)

and here's a sneak preview of some of what I will be selling:
hopefully i will find time before saturday to take photos of each one and anything that doesn't sell will be put up on my etsy shop.

Ravelympics and Other February Happenings...

Today I am sick...boo!...got a little bit of flu...
I'm feeling a tad better, so I decided to actually get some work done :)

Ravelympics!
The biggest challenge i did was to write and publish a pattern for the Designer Pattern Skeleton event. I had some nice Ravelers test it for me and was able to post it in time. The pattern is for sale on Ravelry (and you don't have to be a member to purchase patterns!) This green pair is also up on my Etsy Shop, as well as a knit to order listing if someone wan't to get a custom pair.

I also completed these projects, all my own patterns :)
99 cables beret: This turned out suprisingly well. Need to get of photo of me wearing it so i can post in in my Etsy Shop

Jen's Challah Cable Mitts: I made these for my co-worker Jen because she is awesome!

Grey Cable Beret: this one i kept for myself

and this is from waaaay before Ravelympics, but i finally got a photo of me wearing it:

Up next:
-Spring Sale in my Etsy shop soon! - discounts on hats, scarves, freebies, possibly some de-stashing!
-New items - Hand Spun yarns, summery accessories, felted & knitted items, more patterns
-Knitting Tips - mostly some stuff i've come with but also some good resources from other knitters.

my long wooly weekend...

Frank has been in Vegas for CES since Wednesday. He gets in tonight around midnight and I can't wait to see him again. Since I moved from Seattle to be with him, we've hardly spent time away from each other. It's been kinda lonely in the apartment, but i always try to make the most of it.

the sandwich I made: tofu, carrots, cilantro & sriracha mayo

My new drum carder arrived on friday! a few test batts...

This was my first time washing my own wool and I actually really had fun. It didn't smell nearly as bad as i thought. I bought the wool from Homestead Wool and Gift Farm in Wisconsin. (this one is Romney from a sheep named April). They also have an Etsy shop. I was quite impressed with the quality of the wool, and the fact that they are really kind to their animals. Plus they offer a variety of breeds (Scottish Blackface, anyone?) as well as alpaca and llama, everything from unwashed fleeces to handspun yarns. Pretty much something for everyone :)

Now, scroll back up and take another gander at the sandwich :)...mmm...sandwich...

Have a wonderful week!
