new kitty!

drinking can lead to frivolous etsy purchases.
case in point: this little guy...

i love him so much! (and frank's not allergic to him).
here he is pictured with a w.i.p basic stockinette slouch hat.
i just started working with Berroco's Ultra Alpaca. it's lighter weight than i usually like and a little slippery on my (cheap) bamboo needles, but it knits up very evenly. i think i still prefer the Cuzco. if only it came in more colors.

Sweet Contest on Ravelry

so i was browsing through the groups on Ravelry.com and came across a Spin Your Scraps contest group. Gasp!...how perfect :)

so far i've maybe got enough for a couple more yards, but i'm excited to see just how much i can get by the end of the month.

just when you feel that spring is about to come...it snows.
i don't think it will stick around for too much longer.
i hope not.

i posted my first item on etsy! check
it out.
it's not knitted, but i just wanted something up to kind of get the ball rolling.

stayed up too late last night watching chaplin's film "the great dictator". such a good movie. such long movie.

still waiting on the press package from Clem Snide.
oh didn't you hear? i'm gonna help promote the show and the new album because they're only my favorite band ever.

ReinYarnations!

domestic news:
-our apartment is clean!
-we have a new shelf to store art and things.
-lots more art up on the walls.
-f made a shelf for me to put little knick-knacks on, if only i can remember where my knick-knacks are.

-made my super awesome (almost)vegan banana bread. almost vegan" because it's a vegan recipe but we use butter like good americans.

something super cool i'm working on:

i spent a good deal of time yesterday spinning little bits of leftover wool yarn. hopefully what i'm trying to do will end up how i think it will.

i did get a little ahead of myself, as i don't really have much right now (maybe four or five yards) and i only have leftover bits when i finish something. i guess it's incentive to finish things.

speaking of finishing things...i have some buttons to be sewing on this week and photos to take and then i will have etsy listings up. yay!

speaking of buttons...one of my sock monkey slippers lost an eye. poor little guy
